My Computer

by nick on January 16th, 2005

It appears my computer has been rid of all the demons. It turned out the motherboard was the culprit. As of now, my specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ (Socket 939)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (Socket 939)
2×512 MB Corsair 3200C2 (2-3-3-6-T1 timings)
3x200GB Western Digital SATA
Chaintech GeForce4 Ti4400
Lite On DVD
Lite On DVD +- R/RW
Lian Li PC61 Case
Enermax Power Supply (I think 480 watt, but I froget)
Viewsonic P95f+ Monitor (when it works… sigh)

All in all, not too bad, I think. It is fast, stable, and not too noisy. I, of course, already have a plan of expected upgrades.

  • Lian Li V1000 case or 4 new fans for my case current case (80mm Panaflo)
  • Seasonic Super Silencer 460 or a 450+ watt quiet Power Pc and Cooling
  • MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
  • ATI X800 XL, Geforec 6600GT, or Geforce 6800 GT (possibly an SLI configuration)
  • Zalman 7000A Cu cooler (have just need to install)
  • 2 x 19″ LCD w/ less than 16ms response time. So far LG-Philips 190X5 is the top candiate
